The model does not compute physical truth. It classifies trace pressure, unresolved uncertainty, and whether a returned result may settle downstream for the selected operation scope.

Mechanic / auditor boundary: the correction decoder handles physical correction. The Trace Capsule audits whether the trace has enough provenance, independence, scope match, and pressure stability to settle downstream.

Boundary lock: The instrument does not claim to know the qubit state. It compares expected trace invariants against returned trace invariants and classifies the delta into bounded pressure channels. Tagged pressure can narrow P_unknown; untagged residual uncertainty carries forward until the Evidence Gate earns closure.
